Non-Thermal Evaporation Feasibility Checklist

Why this topic matters on the plant floor

Non-thermal evaporation is most effective when the wastewater stream, site conditions, and operating expectations are understood before equipment is selected.

The first feasibility check is water chemistry: TDS, suspended solids, hardness, silica, oil and grease, organics, pH, odor potential, and any hazardous constituents that need separate handling.

The second check is climate and site layout. Air movement, ambient temperature, humidity, available area, wind direction, nearby receptors, and civil access all influence practical performance.

The third check is operations. Plants should confirm daily flow, storage buffer, pump availability, operator supervision, cleaning access, and how concentrated residue will be removed.

A feasibility study should end with a clear cost comparison against thermal evaporation, solar ponds, tanker disposal, and hybrid treatment. The strongest option is the one that fits the plant's real constraints.
